Why “Lemonade & Canvas”?

“Lemonade” captures the spirit of summer—fresh, bright, and inviting—while also symbolizing transformation: taking something simple and turning it into something special. Paired with “Canvas,” it reflects an experience where creativity comes to life through art, music, and shared moments. Together, they represent a multi-sensory evening that engages taste, sight, and sound—where boutique wines, citrus-inspired refreshment, inspiring artwork, and live music blend seamlessly in a warm, welcoming setting. Lemonade & Canvas is more than an event name—it’s a feeling: light, vibrant, and thoughtfully layered, bringing people together to celebrate creativity, connection, and the beauty of a summer night in nature.

Enjoy an enchanting, lemon-canopied evening under twinkling lights where boutique wines, limoncello, and mocktails pair with a gourmet picnic, live saxophone by Jason Weber, and a vibrant showcase of over 40 local artists, including new works from talented high school “scholastic artists,” all set within the beauty of the natural world.

The Night’s Entertainment

Enjoy live music from renowned local saxophonist Jason Weber, performing a dynamic mix of Southern rock, ’80s favorites, classic 1969 hits, and country — offering a preview of the concert series ahead. Experience a magical evening where art, music, and nature come together in a warm, welcoming setting.

The Art Show

Held in conjunction with the annual summer concert series, the art show celebrates the beauty and enduring value of nature through artistic expression. Now in its 26th year, the show introduces an exciting new addition—“scholastic artists,” talented high school students from local schools—offering them a platform to share their passion for art and the natural world. Renowned as a vibrant marketplace for local artists, the show features an impressive range of media, including oil, pastel, and watercolor paintings, bronze and stone sculpture, wall hangings, metalwork, and photography. Participating artists generously donate 40% of each sale to support children’s environmental education programs at the Reserve and throughout Southwest Riverside County. Founded by naturalist and Reserve Interpreter Rob Hicks, the art show has grown into one of the community’s most authentic, inspiring, and beloved cultural events.
